10 easy tips to increase FPS in LoL! 

Increasing FPS if LoL means increasing PC or notebook performance in League of Legends matches. In this article we bring you 10 ways to improve your machine’s performance when playing Lolzinho! These are simple tips that can reduce crashes and make the game more fluid.

1. Play without any other open programs

It doesn’t matter if it’s just Word that is open: it consumes memory and processing power on your PC. So make sure you have closed all programs that run in the background, even if they are offline, such as a music player. Those who most consume computer power, in fact, are:

  • Torrent Programs
  • Browsers, especially Google Chrome
  • WhatsApp application

2. Cool the internal components of the PC

Games like LoL consume a lot of power from the entire PC, especially from the video card. If we are talking about a notebook, this is even more common. What generates heating in the internal components of the machine. In order not to happen shut down complete, the power of the computer in general is decreased. In other words: the FPS will decrease in the middle of the game from nowhere.

To resolve this you can:

  • Place the CPU or notebook on a cold or airy surface
  • Install external support coolers on both the CPU and the notebook.

3. Reduce the graphical part of LoL

Depending on the power of your machine, this will be an inevitable solution. If you can’t get a computer with better video card and RAM performance, you’ll have to choose between graphics and FPS.

To reduce the graphs, you must start a game and click on ESC. The options will open and you should click on “Video”. Some adjustments will become available, and now it’s up to you to decide the best setting. You can leave everything to a minimum or test to see how to have reasonable graphics, without losing so much in performance.

The adjustments are:

  • Shadows
  • Quality of effects
  • Quality of the environment
  • Character quality

4. Repair corrupted LoL files

This is standard and is recommended by Riot Games itself. In the game login screen there is this option, when starting the game client. Select the settings, which are on the gear-like icon. In “General”, now have the game perform a full repair of all files.

This is important because some secondary files can sometimes become corrupted, causing LoL itself to reduce PC performance.

NOTE: you can always close the game client before playing, as this also helps to give performance to the PC.

5. Put Windows at full power

If you play on Windows, one more option is to put the operating system at peak performance:

  1. Right click on the computer and go to “Properties”
  2. Select “Advanced System Settings”
  3. Select the “Advanced” tab
  4. Click on the settings under “Performance”
  5. Go to “Adjust for best performance”
  6. Click on advanced and select the best performance of the programs

6. Remove all Windows animations

Removing native Windows animations will make the operating system much cleaner and cleaner, which helps your computer to focus better on your game. To do this, you must:

  1. Go to “Adjust appearance” in the “Control Panel”
  2. In the screen that will open, in the “Visual Effects” tab click for maximum performance

7. Disable Game Mode and Game Bar

The Game Bar and Game Mode are useful if you want to play streaming or even if you just want to record your matches to look at later. If you want to focus only on playing, then disable these features, as they are of no use for maximum performance in LoL.

Look for “Game Mode” in the Windows launchpad and look for “Game Mode Settings”. On the next screen, just disable Game Mode. On the same screen you will find the Game Bar. Click on it and disable it too!

8. Optimize your startup

Go to the Windows launchpad, type “msconfig” and click Enter. In the window that will open, select the “Startup” tab and then “Advanced options”:

In the next window, select the maximum number that appears in the “Number of processors” tab and then click “Ok”:

Returning to the previous window, go to the “Services” tab and check the “Hide all Microsoft services” box. Now deselect all the programs you don’t use, ending with a click on “Ok”:

9. Unlock the computer’s maximum power plan

In the search bar of the Start Menu, search for “Choose a power plan” and select “Maximum Performance” on the next screen, as shown in the image below:

What to do if the “Maximum performance” option does not appear

The “Maximum performance” option may not appear. If this happens, type “cmd” in the search bar on the Windows launch menu. Right-click on “Command Prompt” and select “Run as administrator”:

In the Command Prompt, copy and paste the following code: powercfg -duplicatescheme e9a42b02-d5df-448d-aa00-03f14749eb61

If all goes well, the following message will appear: “Energy Scheme GUID: ee64ee27-468a-4a62-ba0d-74606d1b6a6c (Maximum Performance)”. Restart the PC. The “Maximum performance” option will be available.

10. Increase CPU priority for League of Legends

Open League of Legends. Minimize the game and open the Task Manager with Ctrl + Alt + Del. In the “Details” tab, look for the task of the LoL launcher. Right-click, go to “Set priority” and set it as high priority. This must be done every time you start the game.

  • Screen resolution up to 1920 × 1200

Recommended Mac requirements:

  • 3 GHz dual-core processor (support for SSE2)
  • 4 GB of RAM
  • 10 GB of available hard disk space
  • NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M or ATI Radeon HD 4670, or better.
  • 1920 × 1200 screen resolution
